Mahindra has crossed the 70,000 unit sales milestone for the XUV 7XO within seven months since its launch in India. The replacement to the XUV 700 received extensive revisions to its exterior and cabin, and it has been well received by consumers. Prices for the expansive range start at Rs. 13.99 lakh while the range extends to Rs. 25.79 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom) for the top AX7 Luxury diesel AWD automatic.
The XUV 7XO gets two engine options: a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre turbo diesel. The petrol engine kicks out 203 PS and 380 Nm while the diesel mill makes 185 PS and 420 Nm in manual guise and 450 Nm when paired with the automatic gearbox. Both engines can be had with a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission while all-wheel drive is available on selected diesel AT trims.
The SUV measures 4,695 mm long, 1,890 mm wide and 1,755 mm tall and has a 2,750 mm wheelbase. Mahindra offers six- and seven-seat configurations as it enables the XUV 7XO to appeal to customers who prefer second-row captain chairs or a regular three-seat second row layout. The suspension comprises independent MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link arrangement at the rear while Frequency Selective Damping and Mahindra’s DAVINCI suspension technology are part of the package.

Top-end variants are equipped with a triple screen dashboard featuring three 12.3-inch displays covering the digital instrument cluster, central infotainment system and front passenger display. The equipment list also includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Alexa Built-in, ChatGPT integration, OTA software updates, connected-car functions and wireless charging. A 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system is available on high-end variants alongside Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
The equipment extends to ventilated front seats, ventilated second row captain’s chairs, electrically adjustable front seats, driver seat memory, powered second row recline, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and a powered tailgate. The SUV also boasts split-beam LED headlamps, C-shaped daytime running lights, a redesigned grille and bumpers, revised tail lamps, flush-style door handles and new 19-inch alloy wheels compared to the XUV 700.
Based on variant, the XUV 7XO is stuffed with safety features including seven airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, hill-hold and hill-descent assistance, ISOFIX mounts, front and rear parking sensors, tyre-pressure monitoring, an electronic parking brake and a 540-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, functions such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane assistance, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, etc.
